To know: On Thursday, February 26, 2026, Cedar Key Fire Rescue held a wonderful ceremony to acknowledge the dedication of our first responders (their years of service range from 1 year to 48 years) and to show the community the new ladder truck. Many supporters turned out to take part in this celebration.

Cedar Key thanks our state leaders for providing the funds and all the people behind the scenes that worked to make this happen. The new truck is a Quint which means it has five essential components: a pump, water tank, fire hose, aerial device (ladder), and ground ladders. This truck can be seen at the Cedar Key Fire Rescue station on 1st St.

Cedar Key Fire Rescue is made up of primarily volunteers. The Fire Chief and one other full time firefighter are joined by volunteers who dedicate their time to serve our community. If you are interested in joining or would like to support their efforts, please visit their website below.

Quick Fact: Cedar Key Fire Rescue responds to all types of emergencies including but not limited to fires including structure, woodland and vehicle, water rescues, vehicle accidents, aircraft mishaps and BLS first responder medical calls.
